PERMACULTURE SCHOOL, PUYGAILLARD DE QUERCY, FRANCE

03 ZOOM IN ON BARN.JPG

Brass Architecture has been appointed to restore a large barn in the Puygaillard De Quercy region of France. The site sits within a permaculture farm and the owner is looking to restore the barn to accommodate a series of bedrooms (plus bathrooms) – allowing visiting international students to stay onsite (learning the processes of permaculture within the evolving topography).

The existing barn is in a poor state requiring full replacement of most fabric. Our design intends to retain the existing perimeter walls, with all new additions in keeping with the philosophy of the owner - sourcing all materials locally via exchange of trade rather than cash.
